  • Friday: Casual, summer clothing – shirts, shorts, jeans/long pants, etc
  • Saturday: Casual, summer clothing – HOBY shirt (provided), shorts, jeans/long pants, sneakers or other closed-toe shoes
  • Sunday: Nice dress attire
    • Ladies – skirts, dresses or dress pants
    • Men – dress pants and collard shirt or polo
• Jacket, sweatshirt or other long sleeve shirts
• Comfortable shoes
• Umbrella and/or rain coat
• Water bottle
• Backpack/personal bag
• Prescription Medication (if applicable)
• OTC medication as needed
• Health Insurance Card
• Small amount of spending money (optional – for our Iowa HOBY Store available during the weekend)
• $25 room key deposit, cash or check made out to Iowa HOBY due at Check-In, Friday, June 7th

Prescription and OTC Medication:

If applicable, be sure to bring any prescription and/or OTC medication. Please bring only as much medication as will reasonably be needed during the HOBY event (3 days). Prescription medication must be in its original container as labeled by the pharmacy. Please refer to the Policy for Use of Medication During a HOBY Event included in the Health and Safety section.

Check In:

Check in will start at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7th and last until 9:00 a.m. Please make every effort to arrive during that time frame. Please do not arrive expecting to check in prior to 8:00 a.m. Check in and room assignments will be handled at Drake University, Olmsted Center (2875 University Avenue Des Moines, IA).
