Volunteer Your Time and Talent

HOBY’s success is the direct result of its 4,000 national volunteers who plan and run its over 70 high school leadership seminars across the country, in Canada, and abroad. With volunteers ages 17 to 70, HOBY seeks out energetic and driven volunteers who want to make a difference, motivate young people and serve their communities.

Volunteers are also needed to help with the Leadership Seminar Planning Team. Please contact lsc@iahoby.org for more information about these opportunities.

Leadership for Service: The HOBY Promise

HOBY Leadership Seminars include a service component called “Leadership for Service.” This program includes the 8,500 sophomores who attend HOBY Seminars to undertake community service projects and requires a minimum total of 100 hours. This effort results in at least 750,000 volunteer service hours each year. To step up efforts to help young people realize the personal and social benefits of volunteerism and service, HOBY gives each Ambassador who successfully completes the 100 hours of service a recognition and rewards package.

If you are a HOBY Alumni who is interested in logging your service hours, please proceed directly to the login page.

Iowa HOBY Volunteers

Through their companies or organizations, they provide gift-in-kind support and fund student scholarships for thousands of participating sophomores. HOBY volunteer may also serve on corporate board of Iowa HOBY – providing guidance on planning, marketing, finances, student recruitment and more.
